Police Scotland is advising the public to be aware of telephone fraud following several incidents being reported in the Perth area.
People have recently been targeted by fraudsters who are cold-calling claiming to be Police officers. The fraudsters have then asked for people’s bank details and requested that funds be transferred to different accounts.
Police Scotland says that at no time would Police or your bank ever ask for your personal details over the phone. If you are ever in any doubt of the origin of a call, hang up the phone.
