A Park & Ride system is planned for the 2014 Ryder Cup and will operate from three sites.

A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan is a key component of the successful staging and delivery of the event and the organisers are utilising experience of previous Ryder Cup matches in the UK where a Park & Ride travel system was operated to accommodate the significant numbers of spectators and staff attending the event and to minimise traffic disruption as much as possible.

Some residents and businesses well be impacted in some way as a result of these transport arrangements. Although there are many benefits from staging The Ryder Cup here in Scotland, it is impossible to arrange an international event of this size and status without some degree of inconvenience to the area. The organisers are anxious to ensure minimal disruption to normal routines for local residents and businesses and also to effectively communicate their plans

Local briefings were held in September 2013 to outline the planning process and proposal details, on the impact of the Park & Ride site. This included establishing a Community Engagement Forum where Councillors and community bodies can issues and represent the interests of the local area.

Access for residents and visitors staying locally
