A memorial took place today to pay respects to David Haines after he was murdered by the ISIS.

Over seven hundred people turned up at Perth Congregational Church today to pay respects to David Haines who was murdered by the ISIS. As press gathered outside Pullar House Alan Henning’s wife Barbara Henning also attended with David’s brother Michael.

Daughter of David’s Bethany Haines also attended seen wearing bright clothing which was requested by the family. Donations were also made during the service.

Michael Haines and Barbara Henning have written a joint letter calling for “acts of unity” against ISIS militants. In a joint letter they said: “Their desire to help was not driven by their religion, race or politics but by their humanity. David and Alan were never more alive than when helping to alleviate the suffering of others,”

Rev Gordon Cambell said: “There was tears and laughter, we remembered David Haines in many ways” He also went on saying “David was one of Perth Son’s working at Royal Mail and the Railways, I remembered him when I became a minister”
