Bomb disposal in attendance at Pitlochry

A full operation is underway and emergency services are at scene. The suspicious package is being assessed police said. According to reports police were carrying out routine patrols when they came across the suspicious package at around 5pm this evening. Local residents have been evacuated for safety reasons.

The army bomb disposal team arrived at the scene at the complex of holiday lodges in Perthshire at around 9.15pm. One man has been taken to hospital. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
