Where the likes of #PerthLoveFest and the highly informative, Perth Gazette are highlighting/supporting local trade and shopping too.
I’d like to nominate, my own personal choice, for ‘Excellent Local Service’….if there is such an accolade to be bestowed.
My choice would be, Ann Phillips of our Fair City’s ..McEwans of Perth.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a coffee or dined in the McEwans coffee shop.
You will have enjoyed Ann’s hospitality.
From the moment you walk in, you are treated to an extremely, ‘warm’ welcome…almost affectionate..I’d say.
As she escorts you, to your table, she genuinely is, interested in your ‘Day’ and whole heartedly… is concerned, should you be having ‘One of these Days’.
Unlike other establishments, where the staff, try to just ‘make conversation’
When seated, you sense the sheer enthusiasm, passion and effort she delivers, as she informs you of ‘the specials’.
She obviously loves her job…and people.
All through your dining or coffee experience. Ann frequently ‘checks in’ with all the patrons…just to make sure..
everything’s fine.
Even when you depart from the McEwens Coffee shop, Ann makes you feel like Royalty, with a fond farewell ..

To be honest, when you get chatting, she is so genuine…you just don’t want to leave !
A few years ago, Ann was presented with a ‘Courtesy Award’ from the Polite Society, in recognition for her service to the Industry…
Very well deserved in my book ..

If only we could bottle up, a little ‘bit of the magic’ that Ann has…and sprinkled it on all the Hospitality people in Perth (Even my staff !!!)
Then…we’d be spoiled for choice, for places to go..
In the meantime..I’ll keep going to McEwens, to be ‘pampered’ by Ann..
