Network Rail Offers £25,000 To Catch Rail Snatchers Who Made Train Derail

A £25,000 reward is still on offer for information about criminals who caused a train to derail in Angus more than a year ago.

Officers were alerted around 10am on the day it derailed at Inverkeilor on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Network Rail officers  found an obstruction at the scene following the derailment of the front carriage of the 08.04 CrossCountry service from Edinburgh to Aberdeen.

Detective Chief Inspector Iain Miller, of British Transport Police, said :“Despite the time that has passed since the incident occurred I am still hopeful that someone will come forward with the piece of information that could help identify those responsible for such an irresponsible act.”
