A Perth taxi driver has avoided a jail term sentence after a sex attack on a passenger.
Danish Masood 33-years-old locked his female passenger in the car and groped her as they traveled along Bute Drive and Dunkeld Road in Perth
The victim who is still in shock is living in fear the court heard. Sheriff Michael Fletcher said
“This offence is a serious one. It is particularly serious because of the fact it was committed by you acting as a taxi driver.
“Members of the public are encouraged to take taxis rather than walk because it is thought to be safer, but to find an offence like this being committed will make the public particularly concerned.
“A custodial sentence is a sentence which is appropriate as far as this matter is concerned.”
Danish Masood was given 200 hours of unpaid community service which seemed to be appropriate by the social workers and said Mr Masood was a “low risk” to offend again.
