Police Scotland Tayside Division is appealing for the driver of a small silver hatchback car that collided with two women as they crossed Perth’s George Street at its junction with High Street at 12.30am on Wednesday 1 January to come forward.

Both casualties, aged 19 and 20, were conveyed by ambulance to hospital, where they were treated for their injuries. Fortunately, these injuries proved not to be serious and the women were released after treatment.

Officers are in the process of examining public and private CCTV footage from the area in a bid to establish the identity of the driver of the car who failed to stop at the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any information that could assist officers with their enquiries should contact Police Service Tayside Division on 101.
