Detectives in Perth are investigating a robbery in Perth where a 22-year-old pregnant woman was assaulted before having her handbag stolen.
The woman was walking in Victoria Street at about 10pm last night (Sunday 19 January) when she was approached from behind by a man who pushed her before grabbing her handbag and making off.
He’s described as being aged in his mid 20’s, about 5ft 7 in height, of slim build, and was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a drawstring at the bottom, a grey woolly hat and white trainers. He was last seen running across Victoria Street and down the alleyway near to the trophy shop.
The black leather handbag has two small handles and contained a red purse with a cartoon character on the front, a Lloyds TSB bank card, a provisional driving licence, a library card, a set of black Remington hair straighteners and three DVDs – Trainspotting, Don’t Mess with Zohan and Fast and Furious 5.
The pregnant woman was taken to PRI for a check-up following the incident and thankfully was found not to be physically injured despite her ordeal.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who can identify the man responsible or anyone who knows where the stolen handbag or its contents are now should get in touch with Police Scotland Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer. Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
