Perth turns into pink for Ladies Day at Perth Races

On Saturday April 26th, St John’s Shopping Centre will become a catwalk for fashion shows to inspire outfits for those attending Ladies Day at the Perth Races.

On Saturday April 26th, St John’s Shopping Centre will become a catwalk for fashion shows to inspire outfits for those attending Ladies Day at the Perth Races.

Featuring a number of retailers and various demonstrations, all your outfit needs for the races are bound to be met. There will also be a pop up shop featuring independent retailers from around Perth, to help you find all your inspiration under one roof.

St John’s Shopping Centre is sponsoring The Grand Lady competition in which the best dressed lady at Ladies Day on Thursday, May 15 will win £1000.

Events begin at 11.30am, and will take place throughout the afternoon.

Claire McDiarmid, Marketing Officer at St John’s Shopping Centre said: “We’re thrilled to sponsor Best Dressed Lady at Perth Racecourse again this year, and the Perth Goes Pink Fashion Show is the perfect place for our fashion-passionate Perth girls to find inspiration for some really spectacular outfits. It will be a real Festival of Fashion.”

Tracey Quin, Sales and Marketing Manager at Perth Races, said: “The build up to Ladies Day has been a phenomenal success this year so far, with the backing of the Perth City Centre Management and St Johns Shopping Centre we are going to paint the town pink in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and hopefully smash all fundraising targets.

“We have been astounded by the volume of bookings, almost doubling our hospitality bookings from last year in our VIP Experience. The pre-fashion show event at St Johns Shopping Centre will be the perfect place to plan your outfit and get your hands on the top prize of £1000 cash for best dressed lady.”

There will also be a prize for best dressed male and best hat.

Ladies Day at Perth Racecourse is once again supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Niamh O’Shea, from Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “We truly value our charity partnership with Perth Races and last year was out most successful fundraising year yet, having raised over £10,000. This year we are delighted to announce that every single penny raised will go towards our Dundee research programme, which aims to reduce the amount of surgery women with breast cancer require. The total amount will also be match funded by an anonymous donor.

“With more women than ever being diagnosed with breast cancer in Scotland, there has never been a more vital time for our work. Our aim is a world free from breast cancer. The support of Perth Racecourse and all those who attend Ladies day will help this happen through our work improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing breast cancer.”

Fashion shows and demonstrations are free of charge but Breakthrough Breast Cancer will be on hand if anyone wishes to make a donation. With competitions being held on the day, and a chance to purchase your Ladies Day tickets, come along and be inspired.
