A special event next Tuesday (6th May 2014) at the AK Bell Library will introduce a fresh and different way to hear about creative work taking place in Perth and Kinross.

Between 7pm and 8.30pm in the Library Cafe, a ‘Pecha Kucha’ event will be held, using a format originating from Tokyo. Creative speakers are given just over six minutes to talk about their chosen topic, and the quick-fire approach makes it a great way to hear about activities and projects happening locally. The event has been organised in conjunction with Creative Dundee and will provide an ideal opportunity for networking and making contacts.

There will be varied line-up of speakers from the worlds of art, music, theatre and more on the night – from Sarah Spalding and Louise Forbes of the Tayberry Gallery to Noëlle Cobden, Head of Creative Learning at Horsecross, musician Donny McElligott of Perth band The New Madrids, artist Katie Guthrie and graphic designer and illustrator Lyall Bruce.

The Pecha Kucha Night is free to attend and aimed at anyone aged 16 and over. To book your place, please go online towww.creativefuturespk.org.uk
