Over 20,000 visitors attended Perth City Centre on Sunday 18th of May.

Council Leader, Councillor Ian Miller said: “The fantastic success of St Johnstone in reaching and winning the Scottish Cup Final has undoubtedly given the local area an extra buzz and businesses have seen the benefit both from their support for the club and the weekend’s celebrations. We have a lot to be proud of in the area and Saints’ achievement only amplifies this.

“It is testament to all the players and to Tommy Wright and his coaching staff that thousands of people attended the Final on Saturday and Perth City Centre was a sea of blue and white yesterday when the team returned to celebrate the win with the local community.

“Footfall figures show there were 8,000 people in the High Street at the peak of the parade yesterday and, we estimate, 20,000 people in the City Centre – a significant rise on last weekend and making a positive impact for businesses, particularly in the hospitality sector. Since achieving city status there has been a real ‘feel-good factor’ in Perth and Kinross and Saints’ fantastic success has only added to that.”
