iPhone 6 deals on EE

The EE website is back up and running now, and all contracts for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are 24 months. The 16GB iPhone 6 is the cheapest contract of the lot, but beware of EE’s pricing structure. If you pay just £29.99 upfront (the smallest upfront cost currently available), you’ll have huge monthly payments of £50.99. This would cost£1,254 over two years, and would get you unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 2GB of 4G data.

However, you can cut that total cost of ownership by approximately £400 if you pay more for the phone upfront and have a lower monthly contract. The best deal we could find was paying £379.99 upfront and then £19.99 a month for 1GB of 4G data, unlimited texts and 1,000 minutes. This brings the total cost of the phone to £860 over two years, which is better value than buying the phone SIM-free and getting a SIM-only deal. If you can’t get that much together upfront, though, the next best deal is to pay£219.99 upfront and then £30.99 a month for the same amount of data, calls and texts. This will cost £964 over two years.

The 16GB iPhone 6 Plus has a similarly deceptive pricing structure. You can either pay £29.99 upfront and have monthly payments of £63.99 for unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 20GB of double speed 4G data, but this would bring total cost of ownership to£1,566 over two years. You’d also be able to use your minutes and texts in the EU, but double-speed 4G is only available in selected areas, so you’d have to check whether your location is covered to make it worthwhile.

Again, paying more for the phone upfront is worth your while if you want to cut costs in the long run. If you pay £479.99 upfront and then £19.99 a month, you can get 1GB of 4G data, unlimited texts and 1,000 minutes of calls. This would cost just £960 over two years, which is a saving of almost £600 compared to paying a smaller upfront cost.Alternatively, we think the second best deal is to pay £249.99 upfront and then £35.99 per month for 2GB of 4G data and unlimited calls and texts. This would cost £1,114 over two years.

Alternatively, if you’d rather not buy an iPhone 6 through EE directly, you can find better deals through Omio that still use the EE network. At time of writing, the best one we could find for the 16GB iPhone 6 was through Phones.co.uk for £39.99 upfront and then £35.99 per month, which would get you unlimited calls and texts and 2GB of 3G data for a total cost of £904 over two years.

Likewise, Phones.co.uk also offers the grey iPhone 6 Plus for £94.99 upfront and £38.99 per month giving you unlimited calls and texts and 4GB of 4G data for a total cost of £945 over two years.

Perthshire law firm Macnabs awarded for Will Aid effort

Macnabs, a leading law firm in Perthshire has raised more than £10,000 for charity this year after taking part in a will-writing campaign where lawyers generously give up their time for free to write Wills for local people in exchange for a donation. Macnabs has taken part in the annual Will Aid scheme for the sixth time and raised an impressive £10,795 this year in the month-long fundraiser, making them the highest fundraising firm in Perthshire and second-highest in Scotland. This is the 6th year Macnabs has taken part, raising a fantastic £33,079 to date. Partner Althea Kennedy comments: “At Macnabs we know that Will Aid helps such worthwhile causes and for us to be part of that and to give something back has been wonderful. Over the past few years we’ve raised more and more and have seen so many of our clients benefiting from the campaign. It is so important that people make a Will – without one the law decides how your estate is passed on, and this might not be in line with your wishes. “We have also signed up for the 2017 campaign and appointments are filling up fast, so if you would like to make your Will this November, please do get in touch. It is very easy to make a Will – and it will save your family unnecessary distress at an already difficult time.” Andrea Hay, Partner and Head of the Private Client team, adds: “Even if you already have a Will, it is important to update it every 3-5 years, especially if your circumstances have changed. If you now have children or grandchildren, if you are recently divorced or separated, or have a Partner but are not legally married, or if perhaps a beneficiary named in your Will has deceased, then make sure your Will reflects what you want to happen when you die.”
