Owner Beth Gillies raised the alarm on social media after their house cat managed to escape the garden which was thought to be secured until the cat vanished. It was later confirmed that the cat named as Remus, was stuck inside a live generator near by St Matthew’s Church.

Beth confirmed that the discovery was raised with SSE – engineers arrived quickly to free the cat. She said “Thankfully kind SSE men came quickly and opened it up for him. He is now home safe and sound”
