To mark national Walk to School Week, Barratt Developments Scotland encouraged pupils in North Scotland to get involved in a number of mini-challenges and games during their journey to school.
Hundreds of schools across Scotland and the UK take part in Walk to School Week each year, aimed at encouraging pupils to keep active. To coincide with the occasion, Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland donated 200 high-vis wristbands and bag charms to pupils at Countesswells School (Aberdeen) and Ruthvenfield Primary (Perth). The items were proudly worn by primary one and two students at Countesswells, and pupils in all year groups at Ruthvenfield, who were asked to take a picture of different colours during their daily journey and outdoor activities that marked the event.
Students who are members of Ruthvenfield Primary’s iBike Crew held a competition for sustainable journeys completed by pupils during Walk to School Week, with Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland awarding the winner a £50 Smyths voucher.
The housebuilder currently has homes for sale at the King’s Gallop and DWH Countesswells sites in Countesswells, Aberdeen and at its Huntingtower development in Perth. The Walk to School initiative further demonstrates Barratt Developments’ commitment to supporting schools in the local community.
