85-year-old man dies following a collision on the A90

Police Scotland have confirmed a man has died following a two car collision on the A90.

*Police Scotland Tayside Division can confirm that a man has died following a two car collision on the A90 southbound this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the area at about 1.42pm following reports of a collision between two cars, a Skoda and a Seat, near the Petterden slip road.

The 85-year-old man driving the Skoda was trapped in his car and cut free by firefighters before a trauma team took him by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where sadly he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Both lanes of the southbound carriageway are currently closed to allow crash investigators to work at the scene. Traffic is being diverted at the Petterden junction.
