Arguably Scotland’s most momentous General Election has finished – but in the immortal words of a former Prime Minister the voting is to go on and ON!

One day after the General Election, polls to vote for Perth landmarks to fill a brand new official MONOPOLY board got underway. Next week MONOPOLY bosses will be in Perth to poll the public face to face as to what should appear on the official board.

Last month games chiefs arrived in the city to announce Perth had beaten 19 other Scottish locations to land its own customised board to celebrate MONOPOLY’s 80th anniversary year.

The board will be released in early October (2015), following the current public consultation process. In all, 22 MONOPOLY property sites will take on a flavour and feel, with Chance and Community Chest playing cards heavily customised too. The four train stations from the original MONOPOLY board will be handed over to a ‘travel’ theme.

MONOPOLY celebrates its’ 80th birthday this year, having first hit shop shelves in 1935. Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher famously said in 1987 after a General Election victory that she would “go on and on”

The new board will be out in time for this Christmas and will be available at both High Street stores, as well as very widely online including amazon.co.uk.
