Police Scotland are appealing for information after a woman in her 40’s targets two homes in Craigie with theft and attempted theft.
Both incidents happened on Thursday 30th December between 4-5 pm. On the first occasion, a woman tricked her way into an elderly couple’s home in Darnhall Drive-by pretending to be from a church, offering a bottle of wine as a gift. The householders became suspicious of her and made her leave before she could steal anything.
On the second occasion a short time later, the same woman managed to trick her way into an elderly woman’s home using the same tactic. Once within, she distracted the householder and stole a quantity of money before leaving.
The woman is being described in her 40s slim build, who was wearing a light-coloured puffer-type jacket and carried a blue or green carrier bag at the time. It is possible she may have visited other doors and officers are asking the public to check their CCTV and doorbell cameras.
